about the designer
Sarah O’Neill (The Zero Waster) is a designer with regenerative and circular principals at the core of her practice and process. Specialising in collections consisting of handmade and hand-dyed pieces.
WHAT I CREATE
Non-seasonal apparel and accessories, made from repurposed fabrics – recycled and deadstock. Reclaiming existing materials such as sail cloth, recycled cottons and various off-cuts, which are then reworked into limited edition designs all made in Ireland.
Repurposing fabrics supplied by local businesses to reduce waste and ensure the lowest carbon footprint is maintained. Obtaining natural dyes from natural sources such as woad, buckthorn and Logwood. The dyeing process uses zero chemicals and fewer carbon emissions than industry dyes, with water usage being significantly lower.
